Try Pro free for 7 days
Seven days of everything in Theatrium Pro, started by you. When it ends, the free Glass dashboard carries on and nothing you set up is lost.
What the trial is
The trial unlocks all of Theatrium Pro for seven days: the other themes, the second dashboard page, the full visual library, the specialist cards and everything else listed in Theatrium Pro. It is part of the app, not an App Store subscription, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing is charged when it ends. Pro itself stays a one-time purchase.
It starts only when you start it; Theatrium never begins a trial for you. There is one trial for each Apple Account. Theatrium keeps the start date in iCloud, so deleting the app and installing it again does not give a second trial, and another Apple TV signed in to the same Apple Account shares the same seven days. This relies on the Apple TV being signed in to iCloud.
Start it
There are four places to start the trial. The button appears only while the trial is available to you, which means you have not used it before and do not already own Pro.
- The welcome screen the first time you open Theatrium: Try Pro free, beside Get Started.
- The Your dashboard is ready screen at the end of first setup, for anyone who passed on it at the welcome screen.
- The Pro screen: Try Pro free for 7 days, beside Unlock.
- Settings › Theatrium Pro: the same button.
While it runs
Everything in Pro works as if you had bought it. A PRO TRIAL badge sits at the top right of Settings. Settings and the Pro screen show the day the trial ends, for example Your Pro trial ends on Tuesday, November 3. On the last day it says today, and the day before it says tomorrow. In the last two days the line is longer: it says that everything you have set up is kept, and that Pro features pause until you have Pro.
When it ends
Theatrium carries on with the free Glass dashboard. A single screen, Your Pro trial has ended, says what stays free and what is paused. It appears once, and only at a quiet moment: Theatrium is in front, Settings, the visualizer, the screensaver and the drawers are closed, and the remote has been untouched for five seconds. If nobody is there to press a button, the screen closes by itself after 90 seconds. It still counts as shown, and the same words stay in Settings and on the Pro screen.
The screen has two buttons. Keep Pro opens the Pro screen. Continue with free closes the screen and takes you back to your dashboard. Your answer is saved in iCloud, so a second Apple TV on the same Apple Account does not show the screen again.
| Stays free | Pauses until you have Pro |
|---|---|
| The Glass dashboard, with every everyday card | Your Pro theme. The dashboard shows Glass until Pro returns |
| Weather, lights, climate, cameras and music | The second dashboard page |
| Room light sync and the free visualizers | Adding new Pro cards. Pro cards you have already placed keep showing |
| All your layouts, cards and settings, kept safe | The full visualizer library, Pro colors and backgrounds, and Party light mode |
What is kept
Nothing you built is deleted. Your cards, layouts and settings stay where you left them.
A few choices cannot be worn on the free tier: a Pro theme, a Pro color or background, a Pro light sync mode and the Video Loops engine. While Pro is off, the dashboard uses a free choice in their place. Theatrium writes down your original first, on that Apple TV, and puts it back when Pro returns. If you have chosen something else in the meantime, your newer choice stands and the note is dropped. The note stays on the Apple TV and is not synced through iCloud.
Buying Pro
You can unlock Pro at any point, during the trial or after it, from the Pro screen or from Settings › Theatrium Pro. It is a single purchase through the App Store, with no subscription. Anything the end of the trial paused comes back. If you have bought Pro before, choose Restore Purchases on the same screen. See Theatrium Pro for the full list.
