The Traffic card

How long the drive to work will take right now, or a live traffic map around a place you choose.

What it shows

Two styles. Commute time shows the driving time on a route you save, updated through the day, with the route drawn on a map and colored by traffic. Live traffic shows a map around one location with the roads colored green, orange and red, and no travel time.

Add the card

Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.

  1. On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.

  2. Press the center once to choose Modify. The Choose a card screen opens.

  3. On the left, choose Information, then move right and choose Traffic. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; cards are in alphabetical order inside each group.)
  4. Choose Live traffic or Commute time. For Live traffic, type a city or street address and pick the match. For Commute time, type a start (your home address) and a destination and pick each from the matches. The preview shows the card with today's traffic.
  5. Finish with the Add to Dashboard button (on some cards it reads Add Traffic). You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.
