The News card
FreeWorks with: Any Apple TVAbout 3 minutes to set up
Headlines with pictures from the news sources you pick, changing every few seconds.
What it shows
One headline at a time, over its picture, with the source's name and a counter ("1/12") in the corner. It moves on to the next story every few seconds, shuffling between the sources you chose.

Add the card
Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.
- On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.
Hold the center of the pad on the card you want to change. - Press the center once to choose Modify. The Choose a card screen opens.

The Choose a card screen. The list down the left side narrows the cards by group. - On the left, choose Information, then move right and choose News. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; cards are in alphabetical order inside each group.)
- Choose a source: a list of well-known news feeds, grouped by region. Tick as many as you like; highlight one to preview it. To add a source of your own, choose Add your own feed and paste the address of any RSS or Atom feed; Theatrium checks that it loads and carries pictures before accepting it. Optional: under Words, separated by commas, list words that should make a story be skipped, and choose Match the theme or Original color for the pictures.
- Finish with the Add to Dashboard button (on some cards it reads Add News). You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.
Good to know
- Display only.
- Theatrium does not choose the news for you. It shows only the sources you tick, in the order they publish.
- The skip-words list is a kindness for a screen in a shared room: type the names of topics you would rather not see at breakfast, and stories whose headline contains them are left out.
