The Device List card
Several devices in one list, each one ready to control from the sofa.
What it shows
A list of devices that you choose, up to twelve, or of every device in one room. Each row has an icon, the device’s name and, on the right, how it stands now: On or Off for lights, switches and fans, Locked or Unlocked for locks, Open or Closed for covers (or how far open), Run for scenes, scripts and buttons, and the reading itself for a sensor. A thermostat shows its current and target temperature, such as 21° → 22°.
The card shows as many rows as fit. If there are more, the last line says so, for example +3 more, and you scroll to the rest by entering the card. A device that cannot be reached reads Unavailable. One that Home Assistant no longer has reads Not in Home Assistant any more.
When the card shows a room, the room’s name is the card’s name, and on the right of it you see the room’s temperature and how many lights are on, such as 22° · 3 lights on.
Add the card
Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.
- On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.
Hold the center of the pad on the card you want to change. - Press the center once to choose Modify. The Choose a card screen opens.

The Choose a card screen. The list down the left side narrows the cards by group. - On the left, choose Home, then move right and choose Device List. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; it is in alphabetical order.)
- If you use Home Assistant, choose under Show between Devices I choose and A room. Rooms are offered only with Home Assistant. With Apple Home you choose devices.
- For devices, select Choose Devices. A list of your devices appears. Select the ones you want, up to twelve, in the order you want them, then choose Done. The setup screen counts them, for example 3 devices chosen.
- For a room, select one from the list of rooms. The card then shows every light, switch, fan, thermostat, cover, lock, media player and sensor in that room, and keeps up when you add devices to the room in Home Assistant.
- Check the preview beside the form, which is drawn at the real shape of the tile, then choose Add Device List. You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.
Using it every day
- Move to the card and press the center to enter it.
Press the center of the pad - Press Up and Down to move between rows. The list scrolls to keep the chosen row in view.
- Press the center on a row. A light, switch, fan or automation turns on or off. A scene, script or button runs. A lock locks or unlocks. For anything else, such as a thermostat, a cover, a media player or a sensor, a panel opens for that device, with its controls, when it last changed and, for a sensor, a small chart of the last 24 hours. Close or Back shuts the panel.
- Press Back, or move Left or Right, to leave the card.
Good to know
- Unlocking a lock asks you to confirm first, with a question such as Unlock Front Door? and the buttons Cancel and Unlock. Opening a garage door, gate, door or valve from a device’s panel asks in the same way. Cancel is the button chosen when the question appears. Locking never asks.
- Rooms come from Home Assistant, where they are called areas. Apple Home users choose devices one by one.
- The card works with any smart home Theatrium is connected to. It is not offered in the very smallest tiles.
- To change the devices, or remove the card, hold the center of the pad on it and choose Modify.
- The card is free.
