The Live Video card

Theatrium ProWorks with: Any Apple TVAbout 3 minutes to set up

A live stream from a web address you set, a nest camera, a ski slope, a beach cam, or a home camera through go2rtc.

What it shows

Moving video from one stream, filling the card. Unlike the Camera card, it does not need a smart home; it plays any stream link you give it.

Setting the stream

The address lives in Settings rather than on the card, so several dashboards can share it.

  1. Open Settings (press Back on the dashboard) and choose Connections.
  2. Move down to Live Video Feed and choose Add Feed.
  3. Type or paste the stream address. It must be a direct HLS link (ending .m3u8) or an MJPEG link. If your phone is nearby, tvOS offers to let you type it there instead.
  4. Press Back to return to the dashboard.

Add the card

Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.

  1. On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.

The Choose a card screen. The list down the left side narrows the cards by group.
  3. On the left, choose Media, then move right and choose Live Video. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; cards are in alphabetical order inside each group.)
  4. Nothing to choose on the card itself; it plays the feed from Settings.
  5. Finish with the Add to Dashboard button (on some cards it reads Add Live Video). You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.
