The Live Video card
Theatrium ProWorks with: Any Apple TVAbout 3 minutes to set up
A live stream from a web address you set, a nest camera, a ski slope, a beach cam, or a home camera through go2rtc.
What it shows
Moving video from one stream, filling the card. Unlike the Camera card, it does not need a smart home; it plays any stream link you give it.

Setting the stream
The address lives in Settings rather than on the card, so several dashboards can share it.
- Open Settings (press Back on the dashboard) and choose Connections.
- Move down to Live Video Feed and choose Add Feed.
- Type or paste the stream address. It must be a direct HLS link (ending
.m3u8) or an MJPEG link. If your phone is nearby, tvOS offers to let you type it there instead. - Press Back to return to the dashboard.
Add the card
Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.
- On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.
Hold the center of the pad on the card you want to change. - Press the center once to choose Modify. The Choose a card screen opens.

The Choose a card screen. The list down the left side narrows the cards by group. - On the left, choose Media, then move right and choose Live Video. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; cards are in alphabetical order inside each group.)
- Nothing to choose on the card itself; it plays the feed from Settings.
- Finish with the Add to Dashboard button (on some cards it reads Add Live Video). You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.
Good to know
- Camera links of the RTSP kind do not play on an Apple TV. A small free program called go2rtc can turn one into an HLS link; the Theatrium website has a guide.
- Leave the feed empty and the card falls back to a camera from your smart home, if you have one.
