The Plex Server card

Whether your Plex server is up, and how hard the machine is working: processor, memory, Plex's own share, and network.

What it shows

The server's name with a green dot when it is reachable, dials or a graph for the figures you choose, and the server's version along the foot.

Every card is added the same way. If you have done this before, skip ahead.

On the dashboard, move to a card you want to replace. Press and hold the center of the remote's pad for about a second. The card dims and a Modify button appears on it.
Hold the center of the pad on the card you want to change.
Press the center once to choose Modify. The Choose a card screen opens.

On the left, choose Media, then move right and choose Plex Server. (You can also leave the list on All and scroll; cards are in alphabetical order inside each group.)
Choose what to plot: tick one or more of Server CPU, Server memory, Plex's share and Network. With one figure you get a dial; with several, a graph and legend. Readings arrive from your server every five seconds.
Finish with the Add to Dashboard button (on some cards it reads Add Plex Server). You return to the dashboard with the new card in place.

"Plex's share" is the part of the processor Plex itself is using. It jumps when the server has to convert a film for a device, which is called transcoding.
