Questions and fixes

3 minute read

Short answers to the questions that come up most often.

Can Theatrium show in portrait?

No. Every tvOS app, Theatrium included, is landscape-only on the television screen; Apple TV itself has no portrait mode to switch to. The Theatrium app on an iPhone is different: it runs upright, in portrait, and on an iPad it turns with the tablet. See The Theatrium app for iPhone and iPad.

Restoring Theatrium Pro on a new Apple TV, or after reinstalling

Open Settings › Theatrium Pro and choose Restore Purchases. The same button is on the first screen of a new installation and on the Pro screen. Pro is tied to your Apple ID through the App Store rather than to one device, so every Apple TV signed in to that Apple ID can bring it back this way, with nothing to buy twice.

See Theatrium Pro for everything the purchase unlocks.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Theatrium Pro is a single purchase through the App Store, not a subscription: pay once and it stays unlocked, with no renewal and nothing to cancel. Every future theme and card is included in that one purchase.

How to remove or delete the Theatrium app

Theatrium comes off an Apple TV the same way any tvOS app does: on the Home Screen, press and hold the remote's pad over the Theatrium icon until it starts to jiggle, then choose Delete.

How to get help

The fastest answer usually comes from the Ask a question box on the guides homepage: type what you are trying to do and it answers from these guides, with a link to the page it came from. For anything the guides do not cover, email hello@theatrium.info, or post in the r/TheatriumApp community.
