Privacy, security and terms

Theatrium is an Apple TV dashboard that runs on your own network. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, nothing sold to anyone. These pages set out exactly what that means.

Quick answers

Does Theatrium collect any personal data?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking code. Your smart-home data stays between your Apple TV and your own system. Full detail on the privacy page.

Does it need internet access?

The dashboard and controls work entirely on your local network. Optional extras you switch on yourself — weather, news, music tempo — contact those services directly, and each is listed on the security page.

Does it open ports or accept connections from outside?

No. Theatrium never accepts inbound connections from the internet and never opens ports on your router. The iPhone and iPad companion app (coming soon) will talk to your Apple TV over your local network only.

Is it a security or care monitoring system?

No — and this matters. Theatrium is a display and a remote control. It is not a security system, medical device, alarm, or care monitoring system, and it should never be relied on as one. See terms & safety.

Setup guides disclaimer

Information only, no warranty. Our setup guides are published free of charge for general information. They are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty or representation of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. You rely on them entirely at your own risk.

We do not control the software they describe. The applications, platforms, plugins, hardware and manufacturer accounts or services named in the guides — including Homebridge, Home Assistant, Node.js and device-brand services — are independent third-party products. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, supplied by or supported by Theatrium. They are built and maintained by others and may change, break, be withdrawn or stop working at any time without notice. We do not warrant that any step described will work on your equipment, or keep working.

The steps carry risk. They may involve installing software, running commands with administrative privileges, altering system, security and network settings, and granting third parties access to your accounts and devices. That can cause loss of data or configuration, interruption of service, exposure of credentials, or unintended changes to equipment. Back up before you begin. If you are not comfortable with any step, do not proceed.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Theatrium and its officers, employees and contributors exclude all liability for any loss, damage, cost or expense of any kind, however arising, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with the guides or any reliance on them. This includes without limitation indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, and loss of data, profits, goodwill or business.

Your consumer rights are unaffected. Nothing in this notice excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law which cannot lawfully be excluded. Where such a right applies and cannot be excluded, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the information again.
