Settings › Connections, explained
3 minute read
Every outside thing Theatrium talks to lives on one page: your smart home, your location, calendars, a live video feed, your media server, your phone, iCloud and your car.
Where it is
Press Back on the dashboard to open Settings, then choose Connections near the bottom of the list. It is one long page; here is what each card on it does and which guide covers it.

| Card | What it is for | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Home Assistant Connection or Apple Home | Which smart home Theatrium reads. Refresh Interval sets how often it asks Home Assistant for news. Edit Connection changes the address or token. Switch… changes to another smart home, or to none, and re-runs setup. | Connect Home Assistant, Connect Apple Home, No smart home |
| Live Video Feed | One stream address for the Live Video card. | The Live Video card |
| Location | Where you are, for the weather, radar, air quality and sun times. Type your town if the automatic guess is wrong. | The Weather card |
| Calendar | The household calendar's .ics address, and a separate one for medical appointments. | The Calendar card, The Appointments card |
| Media Server | Your Plex server. | Connect your Plex server |
| Phone Remote | Pair the Theatrium phone app. | The Theatrium app for iPhone |
| iCloud Sync | Share settings between your Apple TVs. | iCloud Sync |
| Vehicle (Tessie) | A Tesla, for the Electric Car card, on any Apple TV. | The Electric Car card |
About the Location card
Theatrium centers the rain radar, and, without Home Assistant, fetches your forecast, from this location. It works it out on its own, from your Home Assistant home zone or from your internet connection. An internet lookup finds your internet provider rather than your house, so if the radar shows the wrong area, type your town, city or postcode here and choose the match.
